Job Descriptions

Introduction:

The purpose of this guide is to outline the basic steps required for each position in the Touchdown Club at Newport High School.   This document is meant as a guide so those newcomers have something to work with as the season (and events) roll out.  The information was gathered from each individual responsible for his or her respective positions during the 2008 season.

In essence, think of the head coach, Coach Miller, as the CEO of the Program.  He develops the schedule starting with spring football and all of the surrounding events throughout the pre-season, during the season and post-season.  Each position takes a bit of time commitment, however typically the functions are split out, therefore it makes each job a little easier particularly since other team members are so willing to pitch in each season.

Purpose:

The purpose of the Touchdown Club is to work cooperatively with the head football coach in providing additional support necessary to operate the football program for the benefit of the players.  This includes financial support through fundraisers and team building support including:

  • Spaghetti “feeds” the night before each varsity game
  • Pizza night after each game
  • Two BBQs during the Spring and Summer schedules
  • Fundraisers: more to follow
  • Buying much needed equipment that the district does not provide

We need your help:

To be an effective organization, we need the help of the player’s parents and we count on that support each and every year.  If you have any question regarding the program, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
